11070NAT - Diploma of Chaplaincy

This course is designed to develop the advanced skills involved in chaplaincy work in broad range of contexts. It will provide learners with core chaplaincy skills and knowledge that is transferable across these fields and forms the basis for ongoing professional development in specialised areas.
Learners will gain an understanding and experience of the chaplain’s role to assist clients in identifying and utilising spiritual, religious and moral strengths and resources meaningful and appropriate for them. The course provides training in targeted, client-focussed communication and effective interaction. Learners are trained to aid and support in situations of crisis, grief, loss and other life experiences. Skills in, assessing and prioritising client needs, providing interventions, referrals and advocacy are also included.
