This course is designed to provide graduates with a vocational qualification in research methods and practices in a first nations context. The proposed course addresses a significant gap in both culturally safe practice and in research support, providing vocational outcomes and a community focus. The graduate will be encouraged and have increased confidence to enter pathways for further research studies, qualifications and associated professions.
It will provide participants with a range of knowledge, and skills to:
• utilise research methods and practices in a first nations context
• undertake ethical research with a foundation in co-design
• engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities
• ensure culturally safe practice
• provide research support with a community focus
