10814NAT - Certificate IV in Stolen Generations Family Research and Case Management

This course is intended to provide graduates with a range of knowledge, skills and competencies to undertake family tracing activities to support members of the Stolen Generations as a Stolen Generations Family Research Caseworker. This includes:
• apply a comprehensive understanding of Stolen Generations people, research, impacts and issues in their everyday work
• build effective relationships with clients using appropriate cultural safety, awareness, empathy and communication skills
• conduct and provide family history research and analysis for clients using a wide range of information sources, including networking
• support clients in accessing information
• provide client referral services to other agencies and organisations
• provide case management work for client
• project manage family tracing case work
• support clients while establishing their identity and organising reunification with family, community and country as appropriate
• maintain accurate records and files; prepare and present reports
